Kelsey Dame

Legal director

Kelsey Dame is The Joseph Project’s Legal Director. In this role, Kelsey oversees the organization’s legal intake process, which includes conducting assessment interviews, connecting survivors with Legal First Responders, and coordinating case management and follow up.

Kelsey is a licensed attorney who practiced for six years at one of Michigan’s largest law firms in the areas of labor and employment and criminal defense. She also holds undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Spanish.

In 2021, Kelsey discovered a passion for assisting human trafficking survivors after she helped one of The Joseph Project’s Michigan-based survivor-clients achieve the expungement of multiple misdemeanor and felony convictions. In 2024, the Lord graciously opened the door for her to direct The Joseph Project’s legal operations following her decision to leave big law to stay home with her young daughter.
